We have put together a list of some of the amenities you can expect to enjoy while staying at Glendown House. This is just a sample of whan is on offer. Feel free to ask us at any time about local events and activities we will try and help you in any way possible.

Cycing: The Cavan lakeland areas provide an ideal venue for the cycling enthusiast wits lots of unspoilt cycling routes.

Fishing: Fishing is one of the major sports in Cavan. There are lakes that will rival anything in the world. With a lake for every day of the year (365) you will never tire of this relaxing pastime. There also many rivers and waterways to fish on. Irelands two longest rivers the Shannon and the Erne both have their sources in here. There is also an indoor swimming pool and leisure club 15 minutes walk from the B&B.

Fishing Supplies: With all this water around you can expect to find many fishing stores for all your baiting needs.

Golf: Golf is a very popular sport in Cavan. Cavan Town has an 18 hole golf course and there are six more within 30 miles of Glendown House. There is also a 9-hole pitch and putt course.

Equestrian: The Equestrian Center, which is less than a mile from the B&B is renowned world over for the competitions that are held there. This is where some of Irelands top show horses have begun their show jumping days. It is a very popular international competitive venue.

Parking: Private parking facilities are provided for the duration of your stay.

Single Rooms: Single rooms are also available.

Tea/Cofee: There are tea and coffee facilities in each room.

Smoking: All bedrooms are non smoking. However visitors who enjoy a smoke may do so in the residence lounge

Walking: The Con Smith Memorial Park is located just in front of the house which is ideal for walking. The town is also only 400 meters away so it is within easy walking distance. The triangle, which is a ring road that passes by Glendown house, is also another popular walk about 2 ½ miles long.

Television: At the end of the day after all these activities you are just plain tired or are in the mood just to relax and watch television you will be pleased to hear that all our rooms have a television as standard. There is also a sitting room with a television.
